Steve Russell is one of our fantastic volunteers and works tirelessly raising funds for the Trust. Since beginning volunteering with us, 10 years ago, Steve has raised over £30,000 for the Trust – an amazing amount!

In 2006, Steve first became aware of Wessex Cancer Trust and the work we do through G4S. Two years later, in 2008, he first got the charity involved in the Boat Show car parking and started fundraising for us.

Over the years Steve has carried out regular collections at his workplace, asking passers-by for any spare change and helping to raise awareness of the work we do. As well as this, he also manages some collection can sites including Just Rolls and the National Oceanography centre.

Steve also gets the Trust involved in local community schemes, including in 2017 nominating us for SCS local charity which we won! He raises our awareness and profile and we are so grateful to him for all he does.

Lastly, Steve has also got us involved in the annual Southampton Boat Show, managing carparks to raise money for the charity. This has raised over £12,000 for the charity, and is a huge boost to our fundraising in the community.

Steve never stops fundraising for Wessex Cancer Trust and does so with a huge smile on his face. Thank you so much Steve for all you have done and continue to do for us!
